What an llms.txt file actually contains
A good llms.txt file is short and factual. It opens with one line saying what the business does, then lists the pages that answer real questions, each with a note explaining what the page covers. Add the details buyers ask about: area served, hours, shipping, what you do not do. Leave out slogans, because an assistant cannot quote them.
The file goes at the root of your domain, so it loads at https://yourdomain.com/llms.txt, next to robots.txt. It is not a ranking factor in Google. Its job is to help AI assistants describe you correctly.
